When I started creating the OBSIDIAN Kicks Pack, I had one clear vision make kicks that hit hard, cut through the mix, and work instantly with 808s without needing heavy processing. Kicks are not just about loudness. They define the punch of your entire track. So I focused on making each kick feel powerful, controlled, and ready for real production.
The OBSIDIAN Kicks Pack contains 11 carefully designed kick samples. No fillers. Each kick has a purpose, whether it’s for hard trap, drill, or melodic beats.

OBSIDIAN – Kicks Pack Starting & Designing
Everything was created and arranged inside FL Studio. As shown in the playlist, I laid out all the kicks visually to compare their waveforms, lengths, and punch levels.

It helps to see
Transients (how hard the kick hits)
Body (low-end presence)
Tail (how long it lasts)
The first thing I focused on was the transient, the initial hit of the kick. That “click” at the start is what cuts through the mix.
Some kicks were designed with:
- Sharp, aggressive transients
- Softer, rounded attacks
- Balanced hits for general use
This variation allows producers to match kicks with different styles of beats.
OBSIDIAN – Kicks Pack – Body & Tail
After the transient, I worked on the body of these kicks. This is where the weight comes from.
I carefully tuned the low-end so each kick feels full but not overwhelming. The goal was to make kicks that sit perfectly with 808s instead of clashing with them.

Some kicks are:
- Deep and heavy
- Tight and controlled
- Slightly punchy with less sub
This gives flexibility depending on how the 808 is used in the beat. One important detail you can see in the arrangement is the difference in tail lengths. Some kicks are short and tight. Others have a longer decay.
This was intentional.
Short kicks → better for fast patterns and drill beats
Longer kicks → better for spaced-out trap beats
Controlling the tail ensures the mix doesn’t get muddy.

Sound Designing & Processing
For several kicks, I used layering techniques:
- A low-end thump for power
- A mid/high layer for attack

I made sure everything was phase-aligned so the sound stays clean and doesn’t lose impact. In some cases, I kept the kick simple and clean. In others, I added slight saturation to give it more character.
After designing the kicks, I refined them using:
- EQ to remove unwanted frequencies
- Soft clipping to control peaks
- Light compression to keep consistency

I avoided overprocessing. Because too much processing kills the natural punch. The goal was to enhance, not destroy.

Kicks Pack Export
Once everything was finalized, I exported all kicks in high quality and organized them properly. Clear names. Easy to use. No confusion.

Just drag and drop into your beat.
Even though each kick is different, they all share a similar sonic identity: clean and modern.
This means you can switch between kicks in the same project without ruining the mix balance
The OBSIDIAN Kicks Pack is built for producers who want instant results. Every kick is designed to cut through the mix and work perfectly with 808s. From aggressive punchy hits to more controlled low-end kicks, this pack gives you the flexibility to create different styles while keeping your drums clean and powerful.
